This edition of the Weekly Data Report covers August 17–23, 2026 — a week defined by U.S. regulatory news (SEC proposed rule, CLARITY push) and macro easing (Powell at Jackson Hole) rather than by fresh on-chain supply prints.

Where the current week's data has not yet been published by primary sources (e.g. the KuCoin TRON weekly report, published Mondays), we state the latest available snapshot with its date and mark the rest n/a — no fabricated comparisons.

What Happened Last Week

The week's signal was macro and regulatory, not on-chain: stablecoin market cap expanded 1.49% w/w to $306.5B on the back of the SEC's proposed crypto-asset framework, the White House CLARITY push and Powell's Jackson Hole rate-cut signal. TRON activity held a high base (30-day daily transactions ~12.13M, down 4.32% from the prior period), and TRX traded near $0.35 (Aug 17).

Fastest-Growing Indicators

Declining or Soft Indicators

Is There an Anomaly?

The most notable divergence: stablecoin supply expanding (+1.49% w/w) while DeFi TVL contracts (−1.60% w/w) and TRON daily transactions ease slightly. Capital is flowing into dollar-denominated rails while the DeFi layer cools — consistent with the settlement-not-DeFi read of TRON from Messari's Q2 report. The one flag to watch: the 30-day TRON transaction average eased 4.32%, so the 'record or normalization?' question is live for next week's KuCoin report.
