Weekly Data Report — August 10–16, 2026
This is the first edition of the Weekly Data Report. It covers the nine indicator families of our methodology: stablecoin supply, USDT chain distribution, transfer volumes, active addresses, transfer counts, TRON energy markets, per-chain transfer costs, TRX/fee metrics and remittance references.
All figures carry a source and an 'as of' date. Where a prior-week value or 4-week average is not yet available in our series, it is marked n/a rather than estimated.

TRON processed ~2.43M USDT transfers on Aug 6 and 12M+ total daily transactions; activity remains well above the Q1 average of 10.4M daily transactions.
6. TRON Energy Market
| Benchmark | This week (Aug 2026) | Reference | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy rental price (65k, 1h, cheapest) | 18 SUN/unit ≈ 1.17 TRX ≈ $0.12 | 35–40 SUN (other providers) | varies by marketplace |
| Energy rental price (65k, 1 day) | 6.83 TRX ≈ $2.22 | — | longer = cheaper per unit |
| Burn cost without energy (per USDT) | ~6.4 TRX ≈ $1.90 | Proposal #104 set 100 SUN/unit | 2x for new-holder wallets |
| TRX staked / staking rate | 45.7B / 48.2% | Q2 end | −0.9% q/q |
| TRON network fees (quarterly) | $699.4M | Q2 | +15.9% q/q |
Energy rental economics remain the cheapest path: renting 65k energy for one transfer costs ~$0.12–0.96 depending on provider and duration, versus ~$1.90 to burn TRX. Rental saves 70–90% vs burning.
7. USDT Transfer Cost by Chain (Median, Reference)
| Chain | Typical cost per USDT transfer | Note |

| Large-value transfer counts | part of $161.8B weekly total | see section 3 |
What Happened Last Week
The headline: TRON's weekly stablecoin transfer volume hit a record $161.8B (Jul 31–Aug 6), +4% w/w, with USDT at 98.6% of the total. Supply was quiet — total stablecoin market cap flat near $300B+, USDT flat at ~$182.9B, TRON USDT supply edging up ~0.8% to $90.3B. Activity and supply are diverging: transfer volume grows, supply holds.
Fastest-Growing Indicators
- TRON weekly stablecoin transfer volume: +4.0% w/w to a record $161.8B; single-day peak $28.5B+.
- USDD transfer volume: +48.4% w/w (small base, but accelerating on-chain circulation).
- TRON USDT supply: +0.8% w/w, extending its lead over Ethereum.
Declining or Soft Indicators
- USDC supply: −0.3% w/w, with a $412M decline on Ethereum partly offset by +$328M on Solana.
- Total stablecoin market cap: −1.0% over 30 days; holding record territory but not expanding.
- TRON staking rate: 48.2%, down 0.9% q/q — a slow-moving supply-side factor for energy.
Is There an Anomaly?
The cleanest anomaly candidate is the record weekly transfer volume (+4% w/w, new weekly high) against a flat supply base. Transfer volume can compound as the same USDT circulates, so this is a usage signal, not new inflows — but a weekly high at a time of flat supply is exactly the pattern that separates payment-driven usage from price-driven activity. The other flag: USDT daily transfer count dipped ~4.7% (2.55M to 2.43M) while dollar volume rose — average transfer size increased, worth watching next week.
How This Compares with the Prior 4 Weeks
Our series starts this edition, so formal 4-week averages are not yet computable; where the underlying sources provide them we cite them (e.g. 30-day daily average USDT volume of $21.65B; 30-day average active accounts of 1.03M). Against the last comparable window (Jul 24–30), transfer volume is +4.0%; against the Q1 baseline, daily transactions are comfortably higher (12M+ vs 10.4M).
Anomalies & Watch Items
- Record weekly transfer volume on flat supply — the key usage signal of the week.
- Energy rental spreads: 18–40 SUN/unit across providers; watch whether fee normalization tightens supply and lifts the floor.
- USDD acceleration (+48.4% w/w) — small but notable diversification inside the TRON stablecoin stack.
- Next week: confirm whether the transfer-count dip and average-size rise persist.
Methodology & Caveats
- All values from whitelisted sources with 'as of' dates: TRONSCAN, KuCoin/TRON DAO weekly report, NeoDrop/DefiLlama supply snapshot, tronscan.energy and tronenergyrent.com price data, Messari Q2 report.
- Transfer volume is gross on-chain activity, not new capital inflows — the same USDT can circulate multiple times.
- Energy prices are marketplace quotes that change continuously; medians and cheapest-provider prices are both shown.
- First-edition note: n/a marks indicators where a prior-week series does not yet exist; no fabricated comparisons.
